About Me

My name's John and I love to take photos!  

I’ve been taking photos for 5+ years now, with a current focus on couples and wedding photography. In my spare time you'll find me drinking tons of coffee, making cool drinks at my other job, or taking pics of other restaurants' food and drink just for fun! 

I started taking photos at home with my puppy Lola, then started volunteering to take portraits for a dog rescue in Toronto. With rescues, I needed to be calm and patient, taking my time to build trust, careful not to stress out the puppies but always ready to capture a quick perfect moment that could be lost forever.  

Around the same time, I began tending and managing a bar. Not only did I learn just how much I love bringing joy to people in a fast-paced environment, but I also met the couple that hired me for my first wedding! They stressed how much they wanted their big day to be relaxed and low-key, but for all of their big joyful moments to be captured perfectly. I realized I had just the experience and mindset to not only capture this wedding, but many more to come.

Moving to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2021, I wanted to bring my focus onto the east coast, and there's no better backdrop for beautiful photos!

I always strive to provide a sense of professionalism and the utmost customer service before, after and during a photo shoot. I always try and provide a patient and laid back atmosphere, letting you show off your best self in a comfortable and trusting environment. I find the most candid and un-posed moments to be the most truthful, and I’d like to capture yours! Whether it's on your big day, or just when you might want an excuse to dress up with your family, partner, or pet, I won't miss any of it.
